Started this week beautifully, a very good weather :-)
Attended ward round discussion, same patients as last week. It's important that psych patients are evaluated daily. why? Their mental status change on a daily/hourly basis. So it's quite important to detect any change early before they become harmful to themselves or others.
Tell me! When you hear music therapy, what comes to mind? Soothing songs and playing musical instruments right?! According to wiki it is an interpersonal process in which a trained music therapist uses music and all of its facets—physical, emotional, mental, social, aesthetic, and spiritual—to help clients to improve or maintain their health.
Okay, so yesterday my colleague and I got a bit excited (though physically drained) about the course but to our surprise a repeat of last weeks torture occurred. Let me back up, at the start of the class a mozart ish music was played which was quite interesting I noticed a few people shaking their heads, fingers tapping to the instrumentals and feet wobbling & as I was about to join in the involuntary movements, the music came to an abrupt stop (common please play so more!!!). All to be continued with discussions & discussions & more of it. Yes still don't understand! But thanks to youtube I got to play some mozart symphony...(had my solo therapy in my bedroom).
Nothing much is happening at the ward, gives me more time to study some more. Going at a steady pace though.
Anywho about to hit the sack :D
Yours truly
Mee :-)
